Chapter Nine

Amara was sound asleep when she was startled by a rap on the window.

Gremlin and Scrooge let out little yelps, then raced to the window, tails wagging. Buster’s tail thumped twice, but he didn’t bother lifting his head to scare away would-be attackers.

“My stupid brothers are going to get caught,” Tatiana huffed, throwing off her covers. The teen opened the window, letting the sunlight and her brothers into the room.

Amara ducked under the covers, not wanting to see any of them. “Go away. I’m trying to sleep.”

A heavy weight dipped the bed beside her.

“We’ve come to see if you’re okay.” Rone yanked the covers below her waist. “Please don’t hide from us.”

She admired her mates’ physiques. They were all dressed in boxer shorts, and like Hakon, Rone had a few tribal tattoos, too. Though Rone’s chest was smoother, it was as broad as Hakon’s with beautiful, thick muscles cording down to his waist.

“Where’s Drasko?” she asked, ignoring Rone’s bulging eyes as he looked at her skimpy tank top.

“We left him at home.” Hakon sat next to Rone and brushed a soft kiss across her forehead. “We figured you’ve had enough of him for one day.”

She couldn’t help but smile. “Was he mad?”

“He’ll get over it. He knows he behaved like an ass.”

“Hi, Luc,” she said to the tracker, blushing as he knelt beside her.

“Hi.” He bit his lip and ran a finger under her spaghetti strap, his knuckles grazing the swell of her breast. “I like this tank top.”

Tatiana threw up her hands. “Would you guys get a room, already? I’d like to go back to sleep.”

She shot Tatiana an apologetic look, squeezing her thighs together as desire’s familiar ache built deep inside her.

“And your hair and your tits,” Rone added, reminding Amara of a dog panting over a treat. “Oops.” He covered his mouth. “I mean your eyes.”

Tatiana rolled her eyes. “You’re disgusting, Rone.”

She sat up on her elbows, loving how Rone licked his lips when her tits jiggled and her nipples pebbled beneath the tank top. “It’s okay, Rone.”

“Come with us,” Luc said.

Her jaw dropped. “Where?”

“Out there.” Luc chuckled.

She wasn’t especially fond of heights. Did they expect her to jump off the roof? “I’m not a good climber.”

Hakon ran a hand down her leg. “Do you think we’d let you fall?”

“No.” She pulled her knees to her chest, anxious to escape Hakon’s touch. Not because he repulsed her. No, the complete opposite, and she didn’t think Tatiana would appreciate it if she wet her bed. “As a person or as a wolf?”

“As a wolf.” He tilted his head at the window. “Run with us.”

Her heartrate quickened. She’d absolutely loved running with her grandparents, and she had a feeling she’d enjoy it with her mates even more. But what would her grandparents do if they found out she’d escaped? Somehow, she got the feeling they wouldn’t like her running off with her mates.

“What about my grandparents?”

“We’ll be quiet.” Luc stood and held down his hand.

Amara looked at Tatiana, who was smirking at them.
